Prior to 1912, a true conference champion was not recognized since some of the teams
did not play each other during the season (a balanced schedule)
or there were only one or two schools participating in basketball.

*--Prior to 1940, all ties for conference championships were determined by a one-game playoff
except in 1905 and 1910, when a playoff date could not be determined. In 1941, with the conference
divided into two divisions, a four-team post-season playoff determined champion.
