Park and Johnson?
That Section 3AAA championship game, won by Como Park 72-61, would feature the two
boys’ basketball coaches with the most wins ever by City Conference coaches. The Cougars
win was Coach Dan Brink’s 426th victory during his 28-year career in St. Paul. Coach Brink
would retire after the 2007-08 season. Including this season, Johnson’ s coach Vern
Simmons has 410 wins, second on the all-time list.
