On January 19th, the Harding Knights travelled to Elk River for an individual tournament. Also at the tournament were: Brainerd/Pillager, Osseo, Dassel-Cokato, Royalton-Upsala and Zimmerman. Harding finished in 7th place, scoring 90 points.
Harding had a very good showing at this tournament, perhaps the best in the last three years. Keinnan Thacker (113, 10) and Deondre Robinson (170, 12) both took first place. Keinnan pinned Andy Schlosser of Brainerd in the championship, and Deondre won 2-1 against Austin May of Zimmerman. Todd Fairbanks (195, 12) took second place, losing a tough match to Tony Gadacz from Royalton-Upsala. Tou Lee (152, 11) and Ryan Seppi (182, 11) both lost hard-fought matches to take 4th place. Abraham Murillo (220, 11) took 5th place, while Everado Merino (120, 10) took 6th place.
Next up for the Knights: a quad at Johnson on Wednesday, January 23rd. Chaska/Chanhassen and Minneapolis Southwest will also be there. There will be plenty of wrestling, both JV and Varsity, so come prepared to cheer on our Knights!
