It has been a very busy time for the Knights, with both Team Sections and Individual Sections being held the past two weekends. The Knights had a strong showing at these two tournaments, leading up to the State Tournament at the Excel.

Last weekend at the Team Sections, held at South Saint Paul H.S., the Knights were seeded 4th out of 11 teams. The hardwork and the tough competition that the Knights wrestled this year helped them achieve this higher seed. After having a bye in the opening round, the Knights took on the Cougars from Como Park. Harding won the previous meeting between these two schools, 44-30 on January 3rd, and the second meeting was more of the same. Harding won 48-22, behind strong wrestling from Keinnan Thacker (So., 113), Tou Lee (Jr., 152), and Antonio Wagener (Sr, 170).

In the semifinals for the second consecutive year, Harding faced Simley, who at the time was ranked 2nd in Minnesota for Class AA. Harding wrestled very well against a strong Spartan squad, but was beat 79-0. 

This past weekend the Knights participated in the Section 4AA Wrestling at Minnehaha Academy. Several wrestlers were seeded highly, including Antonio Wagener (#2), Todd Fairbanks (#2), Keinnan Thacker (#2), Tou Lee (#3) and Deondre Robinson (#3). After a tough two days of wrestling, both Antonion Wagener (170) and Todd Fairbanks (Sr, 195) moved on to the State Tournament, losing in the Championship to take 2nd place. Deondre Robinson (Sr, 182), Tou Lee (152) and Keinnan Thacker (113) wrestled hard and took 3rd place. Jai Vang (Jr., 160) took 5th place, and Everado Merino (So, 120) and Abraham Murillo (Jr., 220) took 6th.
