1. All field trips and athletic trip buses are scheduled to run in combination with other routes or field/athletic trip services. If a team is going to be delayed at pick-up time, coach should contact the field trip office immediately.
2. Before leaving school, confirm the time and place of the return.
3. Buses which are committed to other services cannot wait extended periods for late groups.
4. Inaccurate actual intended return times cause serious scheduling problems.
5. Inaccurate order information also results in increased cost for the athletic department.
6. The first call in the event of any problem should be to the Transportation Department.
7. To avoid cancellation charges, groups should cancel with Field Trip Office at least two hours before scheduled departure time whenever possible.
Taxi Cabs - Under extenuating circumstances, students may be transported by taxi cabs. Call the Yellow Taxi Company (651-222-4433), and state that the trip is to be charged against the school district. The taxi driver will have one of the riders sign a taxi trip charge ticket. It is imperative the person signing the ticket write a description of the activity (e.g. Como Sr. - Swimming). An authorization code must also be provided to the driver. This code must be obtained from the school's athletic director.
St. Paul School District athletes may be transported by taxi cabs to and from athletic facilities and their high schools only. Athletic director must approve each transport and provide authorization code for driver. Yellow Taxi will not allow more than four passengers in one cab.
Weather Emergency - No field trip or athletic trip will commence during a period for which the National Weather Service Forecast Office has issued a winter storm warning, blizzard warning, or freezing rain advisory for the Twin City area or other areas which will be traveled during the trip.
