COACHES CLINICS

1. Coaches of all sports are encouraged to attend clinics.

    

2. Coaches may be requested to use their personal leave days to attend clinics or conferences.

1. The principal or athletic director shall report all coaching vacancies in writing to the athletic secretary. There is a required minimum of a 5-day posting period. All postings must also have a closing date.

    

2. The athletic secretary will be responsible to post the position, informing H.R. of the vacancy. They will post it on the Saint Paul Public School website (www.spps.org).

    

3. An interview committee shall be organized in the building where the vacancy occurs, under the direction of the principal and the school athletic director.

    

4. The committee shall interview qualified candidates who have applied, and make a recommendation to the principal concerning the selection of the person to fill the position.

    

5. The athletic director will notify H.R. of the candidate chosen. This person must report to H.R., if they are not a current district employee, so that they may complete all of the necessary paperwork (including a Criminal Background Check).

    

6. In emergency situations, due to a sudden coaching vacancy, positions may be filled at the discretion of the principal and athletic director. However, H.R. must be notified. This position is filled to the conclusion of the season and must be posted the following season.
