RADIO, TELEVISION AND CABLE PROCEDURES
The Athletic Director's Committee has adopted the following procedures regarding radio and television broadcasts of conference events:
-
The St. Paul City Conference has sole authority to grant broadcast rights for all conference athletic events and for all athletic events in which the St. Paul City Conference is the host conference.
-
Any broadcasting firm seeking to broadcast a conference athletic event must submit a request to the Athletic Council at least 72 hours in advance.
-
The fee for all commercial broadcasting firms will be negotiable. This fee may be waived for non-commercial broadcasting firms such as government funded radio stations, public television station, a school broadcasting class or any other non-profit broadcasting outlet.
-
Attaining the right to broadcast a conference athletic event does not automatically exclude other firms from broadcasting the same event. Exclusive rights can be purchased only on the basis of a negotiated settlement between the purchaser and the Athletic Council.
-
The broadcasting firm is solely responsible for its audio and/or video transmission.
-
The St. Paul City Conference retains the right of approval of all announcers.
-
In order to prevent inappropriate groups or businesses from gaining association with St. Paul, the St. Paul City Conference athletic program retains the right of approval for all advertisements aired during the broadcast of a conference event.
-
The conference Athletic Council has the right to interpret and/or enforce any item in this policy.
