Comeback Falls Short
Saturday, December 17, 2011 -- 4:00 pm

Tuesday December 13th the visiting Boys Totem Town defeated the Eagles 55-48.  The visitors stunned the Eagles early and led 36-20 at half-time; however, in the second half, the Eagles came storming back.  Down five with 15 seconds to go after a Kahnen Gbojueh three-point play, the Eagles were unable to force the steals necessary to finish the game with a victory.

Leading the way for Washington were Gbojueh (21 points and 14 rebounds) and Lorenzo Howard (14 points and six rebounds).  Guard Da'Vonte Adams chipped in six points to go along with eight rebounds and Donald Nash came off the bench to score two baskets.  The scoring was rounded out by Tau Hyatte who scored three points on a momentous "and-1" break-away lay-up late in the second half.

The Eagles are off until Tuesday December 22nd when they travel to Como Park High School to face the Cougars.  This will be a double-header with the 9th grade game tipping off at 4:00 PM and the JV game following at 5:30 PM.
