ST. PAUL CITY CONFERENCE: Lacrosse Guidelines

 

  1. Boys and girls lacrosse coaches will meet on a date to be determined at Central H.S.  All varsity coaches must attend this meeting.

     

  2. Practice begins Monday, April 4, 2016.

     

  3. All coaches are encouraged to join the St. Paul Coaches Association and the Minnesota State Coaches Association.

     

  4. Coaches may post rosters and digital team pictures on the athletic website.  Updated rosters and pictures can be downloaded anytime during the season.

     

  5. It is recommended that athletic directors contact Field Maintenance prior to the beginning of the season to express needs for the season.  Home sites should be equal to varsity status and as close to state guidelines as possible.

     

  6. The MSHSL allows up to 13 regular season games per season.

     

  7. Injury

     

    1. If an injury occurs during a practice, the coach will be responsible for the proper procedure in caring for the athlete.

       

    2. If an injury occurs in a game, only the head coach or designated trainer will handle the details, including first aid, transportation and need for further assistance or follow-up.

       

    3. If, because of serious injury and the lack of assistant coaches, the team is left without supervision, the contest will be suspended and MSHSL rules will apply.

     

  8. Equipment

     

    1. All players must be in compliance with state league requirements. No unauthorized equipment will be worn.

       

    2. It is the coaches responsibility to make sure all goals are anchored and secure before practice and games.

     

  9. Games

     

    1. Home teams will wear white as required by the MSHSL.

       

    2. Timekeeping, scores, and individual violations will, at this time, be the responsibility of the assigned referees.

       

    3. The following people are authorized to be on the sidelines:
      1. Coaches
      2. Uniformed players
      3. Two managers
      4. Game officials
      5. Scoretable workers (including timekeeper, scorer, ball retrievers)

     

  10. The coach will report the game results to the media to promote St. Paul lacrosse. Coach should also contact Laura Ranum by phone (767-3490) or e-mail (laura.ranum@SPPS.org) for website posting.

     

  11. All regulations regarding rules, violations, game situations, etc., will follow the MSHSL regulation manual.
